Lung Cancer Symptoms, Causes and Treatment


A dreaded Lung disease is known as Lung Cancer. It caused due to a Smoking cigarette. Mostly, at an advanced level, this disease detected no primary symptoms seen at the primary stage. So it has low survival rate.

Short Brief on Lung Cancer

In the outer surface of lungs when any abnormal growth of cells found, which leads to the growth of Tumour is often called as Lung cancer. Symptoms and warning signs of Lung cancer vary person to person and not clear also. Until a routine check-up of Chest X-ray or CT scan, in lung cancer, the affected person never noticed any symptoms.

Lung Cancer is of two types which found in human body. Such as- small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). These are both different by their appearance, growth and also treatment. Approximately it has been seen that near about 85% of persons affected by NSCLC.

Until cancer spread to the whole body, early symptoms often ignored. Cancer might be diagnosed and treated at an early stage if some initial symptoms may notice. Early treatment is effective as per research. But early diagnosis is a challenge as the symptoms vary from person to person.

In both men and women, research shows that the leading reason of cancer death is Lung cancer. You may survive by the treatment at an early stage. If diagnosed at an early stage, treatment is successful. SO consult your doctor if you notice symptoms. Here are the primary symptoms of lung cancer.

Different studies have shown that approximately 90% of lung cancers are due to excessive use of smoking tobacco. So lung cancer is strongly associated with cigarette smoking. Also, smoking of Pipe and cigar is the reason for leading cancer in lungs. More than 4,000 chemical compounds found in tobacco and among them many compounds like carcinogens are there which cause cancer. Lung cancer also affects by passive smoking. Means inhalation of tobacco smoke by non-smokers who live around smokers is also affected a lot for lung cancer.


Here in Lung cancer, treatment often seen at an advanced level. In this treatment, doctors do surgery to remove cancer cells. Also to kill cancer cells, chemotherapy and radiation therapy also suggested. Until complete removal of cancer cells by surgery or therapy, it is found incurable.

If cancer has not spread beyond the lungs such as in primary, secondary, third stage of NSCLC and also some patients who have detected with limited stage NSCLC, the best and effective treatment is surgery.

For both NSCLC and SCLC, Radiation therapy also found to be beneficial. To kill cancer-causing cells, it uses high-powered energy beams. It is ideal for those people who are not agreeing for surgery or not perfect of surgery. Radiation therapy can also be treated for cancer cells after surgery.

In Chemotherapy, drugs have been given to kill cancers. It is the treatment for both NSCLC and SCLC. Along with surgery and radiation therapy, Chemotherapy drugs also suggested or alone also suggested if detected at an early stage. For SCLC, often the first choice of treatment is Chemotherapy. It has been found that it can be diagnosed at an early stage.
